Second Digital Agenda Assembly : online forum


The next Digital Agenda Assembly will feature a workshop on Data, and within this workshop a panel dedicated to the topic of accessing and exploiting data across languages. The Assembly consists of an online engagement space launched ahead of the event, 8 workshops on key Digital Agenda topics and a plenary session to report feedback on previous discussions and hold debates on the way forward.

First LT-Innovate Summit in Brussels on 19 June 2012

On 19 June 2012, Brussels will become a meeting point for LT-Innovate members and representatives from the Language Technology Industry to network, discuss needs, strategies, innovation opportunities and business trends.
The LT-Innovate Summit will bring together all major players involved in Language Technology (LT) such as policy makers, vendors and corporates, experts and investors, enhancing the visibility of the fragmented European LT landscape and establishing LT as a key enabling technology for Europe.

The LT-Innovate Summit features:
  • Keynote Speeches of CEOs and EU decision-makers;
  • Discussion sessions with topics related to the state and future of the LT industry in Europe, including strategies towards Horizon 2020;
  • Innovation Catalyst Sessions in which LT value-chain stakeholders will demonstrate the potential for innovation in LT and how LT can become key enabling technologies for industrial competitiveness and social challenges;
  • LT Innovate Awards ceremony showcasing innovative LT products and services;
  • Networking opportunities between LT stakeholders (vendors, buyers, investors, research, policy makers).

Language Industry Web Platform (LIND-Web) holds Forum on 24 May in Brussels

The European Commission's DG Translation will host a forum for the EU language industry on 24 May 2012 to build upon the Language Industry Web Platform (LIND-Web) launch in 2010 and the development work carried out in 2011.

This forum aims at bringing together language industry stakeholders (i.e. SME's/multinationals requiring language services, language service providers, translator associations, language and translation departments of universities, …).

Anyone can follow the speeches and debates live via web streaming here. Forum videos will be available after the event.
