TEMIS unveils Luxid® for Microsoft SharePoint 2013

TEMIS, the leading provider of Semantic Content Enrichment solutions for the Enterprise and member of LT-Innovate network, announced that its Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 integration will become commercially available as of today. Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 is an integration of TEMIS' flagship Luxid® Content Enrichment Platform into SharePoint 2013.

Based on patented and award-winning technology, Luxid® Content Enrichment Platform is a powerful and scalable content enrichment solution that natively supports 20 languages and exploits specialized engines called Skill Cartridges® to automatically extract relevant topics, entities, facts, sentiments, or categories from documents and generate rich metadata. This semantic metadata, stored in SharePoint 2013 columns, is then freely available for use by any application, opening new perspectives for content management, archival, business process automation, analytics and search. Luxid® includes a library of off-the shelf Skill Cartridges® that address areas of recurring interest, as well as a suite of productivity tools that help customize them and create new ones that are relevant to customer business areas.

"This second-generation integration will help enable our customers to deploy semantic enrichment industrially on their SharePoint 2013 farms", said Michaël Domanski, Alliances and Channel Manager, TEMIS. "The domain-specific metadata produced by Luxid® is now available for search services, for the Term Store as well as the entire application layer."

Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 is a second-generation integration that builds on the same foundations as the TEMIS' Luxid® for SharePoint 2010 integration, with significant extensions in key functional areas based on customer feedback:
  • Seamless integration with SharePoint 2013
Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 is a server application that is seamlessly accessed through Web Services, reads documents, extracts relevant metadata based on their Content Type and feeds it into the corresponding SharePoint 2013 columns. This alleviates end-user manual contribution efforts and enhances the quantity and quality of metadata. Depending on governance policies, metadata may remain accessible for end user modification thanks to habitual SharePoint 2013 views.
  • Industrial configuration and deployment
Thanks to a rich set of configuration interfaces, all relevant Luxid® content enrichment service parameters – such as Content Type definitions, corresponding Managed Metadata and Managed Properties - can be configured through Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 menus, streamlining to a matter of minutes the mechanics of deployment to an entire SharePoint 2013 farm. Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 also preserves the history of manual metadata modifications for audit purposes.
  • Advanced Term Store integration
Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 enables full, two-way integration with the SharePoint Term Store. When implemented in the context of a closed Term Set, Luxid® applies the Term Set to content, enabling precise institutional governance over – managed - metadata through an Enterprise taxonomy. In the case of open Term Sets, Luxid® identifies concepts beyond a pre-ordained list, as they appear in the content, a process that supports the enrichment or feeding of an enterprise taxonomy based on actual enterprise content.
  • Native application integration
Stored in SharePoint columns, the metadata produced by Luxid® for SharePoint 2013 becomes natively accessible to any application – in particular for content management, business process automation, information access or analytical tasks. As an example, exploiting Managed Properties or Managed Metadata, any SharePoint 2013 search service may seamlessly index this metadata and present rich faceted navigation interfaces structured according to end-users' enterprise taxonomy. Other features that can be built include contextual navigation, content recommendation engines and analytical widgets.

LT-Innovate welcomes the Connecting Europe Facility and calls for the inclusion of a Multilingual Digital Service Infrastructure as a matter of priority.

In an Open Letter to Neelie Kroes, Jochen Hummel, Chaiman of LT-Innovate and CEO of ESTeam offers to the Commissioner the encouragement and full collaboration of LT-Innovate in making the European Language Cloud available to European institutions, businesses and citizens as soon as possible. Why?

"In our view, a major public investment in ICT networks is only justified if it goes hand in hand with a substantial effort to create and/or strengthen European platforms, in particular a language platform." To make business on a multilingual continent, we need to overcome "the language barriers that are still one of the main factors accounting for the fragmentation of the Single Market."
In addition, "the European Language Cloud would considerably bring down the costs of cross-border products and services and allow all Europeans to seamlessly interact with the 1 billion+ market of speakers of European languages. This would constitute a major opportunity and boost for the European economy and society, creating many new jobs. In a second step, such a platform should also support the languages of our major trading partners, thus making European companies fittest for the global markets."

MultiCorpora Empowers Buyers of Translation with Newest Version of MultiTrans Prism

MultiCorpora, an international provider of industry-leading translation technology solutions, has announced the release of MultiTrans Prism version 5.5 at the Localization World conference. MultiTrans Prism 5.5 is a translation management system that ushers in a new era for the translation industry by offering translation buyers three levels of control over the process of outsourcing translations or handling them in- house.

Although the current version of MultiTrans Prism already offers translation buyers control over the management of their translation assets and projects, the new MultiTrans Prism Web Editing Server featured in Prism 5.5 significantly extends control to the management of translation processes specifically in areas relating to traceability, confidentiality, and productivity. Web-based access licenses for contributors throughout the translation supply chain may automatically be granted and revoked as projects proceed through stages from inception to conclusion without the actual content ever leaving the secure server. MultiTrans Prism 5.5 can be fully integrated with content management systems and, with its new reporting capabilities, the buyer has a complete view over translation business management.

“MultiTrans Prism 5.5 is a game changer in the language industry because individuals responsible for translation budgets will be able to optimize the translation process. They get peace of mind knowing that the latest translation assets are automatically and fully leveraged, that projects and timelines are tracked and monitored, that the translation activities are centralized and totally secure, and that their resources are using the most updated versions of translation and revision tools. This version strengthens the business management functionality that is part of MultiTrans Prism's Flow module,” said MultiCorpora CEO, Pierre Blais. “Customers who have already seen our sneak- peak previews are very excited about the new functionality and versatility of MultiTrans Prism 5.5.”
